yea I have the 960m and it kicks ass. its a very nice gpu I can play anything I want on it. it's in a dell inspiron 7559 that laptop is a steal! I got it for $659. even has 4gb of video memory. woops an alienware's ass any day :P
many....and the new driver now makes assasins creed syndicate run at about 8 fps but I don't think it affects any other games. I may need to check other ubi games like Far cry 4 but that uses a different game engine.
Well, if you look at the architecture they're exactly the same gpu. The fact that nvidia could improve an identical gpu with the same architecture is mind blowing. And no, it's not the same. 960m beats the 860m at everything.
No hope m8.
You're just mad the gtx 960m beats your previous gen gpu. If you overclock the gtx 960m, it will beat your overclocked 860m. FACT.
Don't have much hope, amd's gpus consume enough power to run 10 PCs with intel cpus. Laptops would have 10 min battery life with that lol.
Go with the one with gtx 960m If you're gaming.
Why are these idiots in the comments freaking out? It's not like they imrpoved a fucking gpu architecture for the 960m to do 100 times better than the 860m. It's the SAME architecture, be happy that nvidia actually worked hard to create better performing gpus from exactly same things.
Yep it is, I mean like how many crashes have we facedd just to get here
Good to hear. It's nice to finally have our working drivers back. I know it's not a huge deal but for games that they claim are optimized I was able to tell differences because of artifacts in the before/after of installing the driver.
Thanks, I updated to the latest driver no major issues as of now, played a few games and no crashes
okay will give it a try, thanks once again
No problem at all not a bother. Yes, have been using it for a few weeks now and zero problems. Whatever the 860m/W10 issue was has been fixed for me.
Hey James, sorry for bugging you all the time but have you tested out the new Geforce 361.75 Driver? Any sudden crashes on it?
I have the same issues as well, just downgrade your Nvidia driver and the crashes will be less, but i seem to face Intel HD graphics just crashes and responds within a 10 seconds but other than that no problem
computer freezes because of my drivers randomly crashing under basically no stress, Hotfix driver?
See I am currently on windows 10 and have gone back to the September 2015 driver and it is stable till now, you may try the hot fix driver as well and see, but I can't guarantee the success rate though
Wish id seen this post before, happy/sad that im not the only one who has a problem with the 860m, I have a lenovo y50 and spent probably 10-15 hours installing recommended, latest, and preloaded on my device drivers. The latest driver is working for me currently, but if it fails should i just use the hotfix one u guys mentioned earlier?
Yeah im on the threshold 2 update, went back to 355.98, the main error seems to be that when i launch some heavy GPU utilization programmes such as After Effects the computer crashes, at my first point i faced this issue while i was watching high quality M-PEG 2 H.264 Decoded Anime at 60 FPS the computer would crash and some people with the Lenovo Y50-70 have reported that they were getting the Kernel_security_check_ failure
at least you know that other people are having the issue. some hotfix driver was released yesterday but I don't think it has to do with your issues. I've been running 10 that is weird with same gpu/os one of us is having the issue one is not. Did you DL all the updates for 10? mainly the big November update?
So shifted to windows 10, did a fresh install but it look like the latest Nvidia drivers still do have a bunch of issues, Im going to head back to a much older version of the drivers and stay on it for like 3 months cause i want a stable laptop more than anything, i Just get the BSOFD showing me this "Kernel_Security_Check_Failure" Most people who are having this issue are being to told to downgrade to an older driver so im going to do that and see what happens till now
yeah downloaded the driver and works fine with no issues for me, thanks for notifying me btw
So you are saying that the new driver works fine on the 860m
