Guys, i do not wan't to alarm anyone but they are both based on the same architecture and have the same amount of cores. They are basically the same gpu..

I would have bet on the gtx960 too. But I flicked over to game debate And actually the 970m is maybe just better. Either way they are both great cards just for different machines (and prices)

GTX970M is Great for Future Gaming Playing on Ultra gives me 30-45 FPS In Some Graphic Intensive Games, turning down an option like Shadows from Ultra to High Gives me 40-50. Playing on High Gives Me 60. Yes GTX960 Might beat 970M but defintly Not "Crush". The biggest Advantage of GTX970M over 960 that its portable. If I ever think about getting a desktop I wouldn't get the 960 I would get GTX970 or 980 Desktop Graphic. Because it feels a bit terrible playing on a PC That is pretty much comparable to a gaming laptop.

Its incredible for the reasons stated, integrated gpu vs full on card. The differences are pretty significant and the laptop gpu has a signifigant disadvantage.
Why is it incredible to you? They can compete on the same level because Nvidia decided to make them almost as powerful as each other. Besides, it should mean absolutely nothing to you since much better desktop and laptop cards exist at this point.
Actually, how about I OC my 960 as well and then we will see? Yeah, keep dreaming.

Please post your "supposed score of 9877" with a 970M?? as far as i know no 970M (even coupled with intel xeon) has crossed 9100 (only one card) so i am wondering where do you get your magical score from??
I beg to differ - 960(overclocked) - 970M(overclocked) These are 2 of the best scores i found. Note after overclocking they come very close. Also note the difference between the core and the memory clocks. I still lean towards the 970M :P.

Actuality no it doesn't... My 780ti Classified crushes both, my 970m beats my wife's MSI 960 by about 10% on avg...I run my 970M @ 1172/6008 24/7 and my temps are never over 70. My wife's 960 scores an avg of 6944 on 3dmark Fire strike. My laptop, scores yes, I feel pretty good about my laptop, and the 11655 I get from my desktop doesn't hurt either...

They aren't on the same level idiot. Clearly the 960 is far ahead of this piece of shit.
It outperforms the 970m, but crushes? Thats a little over the top dont you think? A mobile, soldered chip in a comparably tiny enclosure that is running off an uncooled laptop power brick compared to a tower pci-e full size card. That fact that they are even able to compete on the same level is pretty incredible to me.
GTX 970 after 3.5 GB doesn't drop frames at all, its about 5 frammes or less.
970m actually does beat the 960 in benchmarks. Quite happy with my laptops performance now. on my GT70 the stock numbers are higher than GPU boss has listed. My boost clock is 1038mhz before I OC. I've run my 970M at 1059mhz with boost of 1173mhz and memory at 1503mhz 24/7 stable. The temps have never exceeded 62 degrees even under full load for hours and that's without using the cooling boost option (way to loud for me). The 970M is a fantastic card, and while might not beat an overclocked 960, certainly does beat a stock 960 any day. For comparison sake, my FIrestrike score is 9876 points. Not bad for a laptop...
Some folks don't change graphics cards every year.
Is there any gaming performance comparison for them out there? I would like to check that out.
