I'm curious to know if the 880M and 980M are cross-compatible across all motherboards. I've got Dell about to upgrade me from an 880M to a 980M because of overheating failure issues with the 880M, but they claim that my motherboard is not compatible with the 980M and they need to send it to a service facility to make the exchange... Alienware 17 R1 (R5). I purchased that computer about a year out-of-date specifically BECAUSE it still had card slots, instead of soldered GPUs, and so that I would be able to upgrade the hardware once a few new versions came out and the price came down, so I'm not understanding how it's "not compatible".
I was to ask same question I own Laptop with gtx880m SLI I believe we should wait for pascal Not much differences between 880m and 980m if you put in mind the money you will invest not less than 2000 $ for cards alone in SLI mode
And what if you have a double gtx880m vs gtx980m?
Holy shit i just died
Of course you don't "think" because you don't know. Do some research (I.e. Google). Im tired of people being pessimistic. I bet you don't "think" you can overclock your ram too, huh? SMDH
Overclocking a screen? I dont think thats even possible.
Of course you can overclock your monitor if the panel is capable of higher refresh rates. I never said overclocking your GPU will increase monitor refresh rate.
Overclock a screen ?? Overclocking the graphics card will not increase monitor refreshing rate.
funny bc my laptop screen is 120 hz....
Do your research please. Even if they dont, you can overclock most of them.
That is not true at all. A lot of the Asus and Alienware products have 120 Hz monitors
that dosnt matter becase laptops screens dosnt support more than 60fps
putang ina mo gtx 980m de best im runnig bf4 with 100+ fps ultra
