Yup, I got the 1070 mate! It's an awesome card. All the games run at 60 fps on max. I kinda wanted to see what AMD could deliver with their Polaris architecture, but since they only got to release the RX 480 and not anything more powerful I just got the 1070 instead.
Get that 1070, when your old card is done. DONT get the 970. (The 970 is great, and will play anything that plays on the ps4 just fine, but games like Metal Gear Solid 5 or Star Wars Battlefront, can be boosted FAR beyond console capabilities with a 1070.) My 970 has > 10 hours use. I wish I could sell it towards my 1070...
no winner? this card, is what's said to "equal the ps4." I'm sorry.... but ANY decent processor (some quad core i7 or i5) with a gtx 970 STOMPS a ps4, and the 970 stomps the 7850. Real hard, real fast.
No "winner" in this comparison? -- Wow. I have both cards in two identical machines and the GTX 970 from EVGA (while slightly OC'd from factory) gets double frame rates of the AMD card. The 7870 is not a bad card.. will run modern games but isn't "equal" to a 970. The 970 beats out the 780 DCII Overclocked card from ASUS narrowly, and has DX 12 built in plus more memory. Odd comparison,.. real world practical benchmarks are much more valuable than benchmark programs in many instances.
I'm still waiting. No hurry as I can still play my favortie games.
I just bought the 970 (current card is the 7870). Did you wait or did you get it too?
I'm thinking of upgrading my 7870 GHz edition to the 970, but I'm thinking of getting the next gen from nvidia, the 1070 Pascal architecture
