Radeon HD 7970  vs GeForce GTX 770

The GTX 770 WindForce OC is no different, but the improvement over the reference design cooler is, nevertheless, not that big because NVIDIA's cooler is already quite good.

you have to be kidding? how would it bottleneck THEY ARE BRAND NEW
Darn right! Comparing even similar chips like Haswell and Ivy Bridge by hertz is a waste of time. They all do different amounts of work per cycle and therefore make it apples to oranges.
It's not really the Titan Killer, lol.
Because BF4 will be optimised for the AMD cards, therefore it'll be the 7970 that has 70% higher framerate
The 770 gets a 70% higher framerate in BF3... how can you even compare the two!
stop quoting Linus and Elric :D
you should make new 3dmark records with Nvidia forget the games and make the records i never care much about 3dmark it's bullshit...
who else thinks Nvidia is holding out on us their ceo`s were on a month vacation Nvidia does not want amd to go away, they want competition ,the Titan is like 2 YEARS OLD they could have maked a better titan by now.. and BTW all the cores are not unlocked on the TITAN they could easily make a Titan that would have cost around 500$, ,....their GK110 gpu can smoke anything that AMD releases
of course no
Sorry Nvidia, but the 7970 takes it. Especially when it costs 150$ less!
Amd does have the R9 290X Titan Killer coming out soon though.
i have a i5 4670 with gtx 770 sc acx x2 will this rig bottleneck????!!??!?!??!?!?
Resolution might be a factor as well.
but nvidia has been ahead in sheer gaming performance :P so yes amd wins if you make grapohics and 3d animation or multi-screen setups, but a single screen with a single card nvidia is the strongest
that might be because of your cpu and rams also taking a part.
Where did you get that battlefield benchmark for the 7970? mine gets easily over 100fps
Dude Nvidia has GeForce 8xxx, 9xxx, 2xx, 4xx, 5xx, 6xx, 7xx and Titan series, AMD/Ati has Radeon 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx, that's 7 to 4...
770 FTW
It's actually being called "Hawaii". And I'm saving my money for one without a doubt. Amd has always been ahead in sheer calculation performance.
Comparing the Mhz of completely different architectures and using it to consider what one to buy is like rolling dice to decide.... using real things like memory bandwith, flops, pixel rate, texture rate, and fps is the real way to compare it. The Mhz should not even be included.
If the 7990 is truely the best card out there... how come 3dmark world records are made on titans and gtx 780s? face it, 7990 is just 2 7970 put under a single flag that is outdated by now. its a single card dual gpu, and sli 780s beat it. so who's the best now, nvidia launched 5 series and ati countered it with 7 series wich then nvidia tackled with the most powerful single gpu card yet, and it was to get initiative, so next time amd releases 9 series nvidia will kick it up a notch and make 8 series that mostlikely performs 10 to 20% better that atis 9 series. admited, ati makes mainstream gaming cards at awesome price but just doesn't have what it takes to be THE best. not just yet.
Thanks for catching this. It's now corrected.
Mistake under Features: Memory Bandwidth. It says the 770 has 164 GB/s then right underneath the quote says 224 GB/s
than* What ati card cost $700?.. and ofc 780 is best card out there after titan, and now if you want to look at the price comparison, gtx 690 and titan are $1000+ when 7990 is $900+tons of games beats them both. The best card that you want to spend is 7990 if you rly have money. And don't forget that ati 7xxx has been launched when nvidia came up with gtx 5xx series lol. So basicaly ati is 2generation behind and still the best.
