I wonder how you feel these days when the 290 is smashing the 780 TI and Titan in new games lol...
Can I have one? xD
Maybe someday bobby I'll get the fx8250 8 core but just don't need it tbh
Can't see a bottleneck in the games I play..cpu is usually only half used. Yes it would be a bottleneck if the cpu had all 6 cores at 100% and game was running slow and juttering but I'm not getting that
Nice bottleneck....LOL
this a lie
Thats true AMD please develop more cards at lower prices plese because your awesome your th thing which keeps us middle class people gaming
Also, went and looked at some actual benchmarks. The R9 290X beats the Titan in 7/10 benchmarks with the reference cooler. The 290X most definitely was a Titan killer. Jbmeth007, you're an idiot.
290x fucking rapes the titan in most games. all you nivdia fans, if you are gamers, you are choosing the wroung path. Literally all of the 33 at counting games that I play all support amd. I only have 1 game titan fall that is supported by nivdia. im not a fanboy becuase i also do use nvidia on my workstation. But on my gaming rig I choose amd.
so far reading down here the comments are becoming more like the r9 290 vs the r9 290X with it big price tag for a few more fps. i just did a major leap from having a dual2core 3.16ghz, 4gb ram, conroe1333 dvi/h mobo, and radeon hd 5770 1gb gddr5 card system to a far better AMD FX6300 3.5(4.1) chip, 8gb ddr3 1333 mhz ram, gigabyte ga-970a-ds3p, and a gorgeous wee sapphire r9 290 4gb gddr5 tri-x card, and ive played BF4, skyrim, titanfall, crysis 3, diablo 3 and blackops 2 and now shadows of mordor so far and with every graphics setting given up full and so far everyone of them are fast and visualy stunning and its all i need. and at 1080p. no stutters, glitches crashes. its sweet. So who the frig wants to waste money on a 290x or even a titan?. Now i waited and waited on prices dropping but no...but as always..they dont drop till you actually goto buy one. i was livid.i hear a report now of the 290x coming down in price.and ive only had my system for a fortnight..but you know what F it. i got mine on ebay for 240 squid..woohoo and im laughin. oh if you look them tests above say they were done on an SLI ... Please note that we are discussing 2560x1600 here because it is the absolute minimum resolution you should use for 290X CrossFire.Radeon R9 290X
this site loves nvidia thats why
yeah cause its really worth the hundreds of pounds for 6 FPS!! you are so dumb
biased much bro haha you are the true fanboy you deserve a medal
the titan may have double precision however in real world applications the 290x beat the titan in most scenarios both in stock and overclocked configurations in both crossfire/sli and single cards so where do you get your info GPUboss
Half the price and equal performance + scores better in tons of games then the overpriced Nvidia Titan. These paid biased gpu sites are a joke. Imagen putting 2 of those 290x in your system versus 1 titan for the same price......dear lord......its a assrape of epic proportion. NVidia should lower their retarded prices. Glad we have this competition <3
whats "so much more"?
and its worth 4-5x the price of the 290? never on this earth. overpriced bullshit.
rude and unrelated, get some sleep kid.
haha, wow, this is the ONE site that says the titan beats the 290x, every where else says other wise, just goes to show this site lies
Titan already has decent reference cooling, the reference 290X gets throttled down to about 700MHz by the time its done heating up, if it stays cool, it'll give much better performance than the reference cooler gives it.
"when you want the best. You have to pay" I find it hard hard to justify a $400-$500 price difference with a less than 10% performance difference. You could buy two R9 290X cards for the price of a Titan, and get about 190% of the performance. Also, there's reason you consider the price/performance ratio, not everyone is made of money. Also, since money is no object, why wouldn't you just get the R9 295X2 that was recently released? It's going to be the most powerful card on the market for a while, so why not, right?
here comes 295x bitches
Titan Killer. Titan is double the price for a slight performance increase.
Yeah... double the price for 5 more FPS.
Yeah, and it's double the price.
