Right dude thats a really fckn nonsense im a amd user and still using amd until now bcs its cheap and suited for budget gamer but amd are really known for its high consumption power and its damn heat. you expect to run a double 8gb rx 580? thats crazy it will be very hot even if you dont over clock it the power consumption of both will be 450w at peak and either you will buy external cooling for your GPU or you will need to buy expensive rx580 with good cooling that cost $350++. thats total nonsense, i even considering change to gtx 1060 6gb next bcs rx 580 8gb bcs its 120w vs 225w and i need to upgrade my psu if i change to rx 580 no to mention the monthly bills i need to pay if i used rx 580
I'm a AMD fanboy, but putting dual 580s in a $1000 build? You gotta be skimping on some other stuff. Cooling is cheap, but you're gonna need to put some time and money in it. You might also need a bigger form factor unless you're a cable management magician. Your dual gpus are also going to be drawing more power than a single 1070, you'll need a better PSU since duals are going to be pulling 400watts at peak just by themselves. I'm planning to get a single 8gb 580 because they seem pretty good and pretty cheap.
Man, I don't know a lot about crossfiring (or sli), but it seems like it sucks. At least for gaming, and power consumption. Some games run better with dual cards, some games run worse, and a 1080 will run better no matter what. 1 1080ti costs more than two 580 though...
I see an RX as 580 8gb as around $250-260, and 1070 at about $400 same as Zenith Sanada Moon. Where do you see the 580 at $400 and 1070 at $430? Don't buy either at those prices man!
Seriously? Man get a 1070 then. In the US, it's $150 difference, $400 for an 8gb 1070, and $250-260 for an 8gb 580. I usually like to spend more than I should on parts, but the 580 is 38% cheaper, and just marginally worse? That's a harder choice.
if your gonna 2x then just get a dang 1080ti
agreed, but maybe for 144hz monitors (and now with the 240hz monitor also) the 1070 have a better usage VS the overkill power for the 1080p60 monitors
your grammar hurt my eyes
for 1080p, RX580 is the one for you 1070 is for 1440p and beyond.
400dollars rx 580/ 430D gtx 1070 ?!
yes in gaming everything matters when building a pc so you build one for 1000 with a 1070 and me rx580 for same price mine will come out better than your because I have more to spend than you do I can run 2x rx580 and still keep it at 996.87 while you run 1 gtx1070 and have crapper parts to compliment it at 994.52. So yes the rx580 wins in terms of budgeting a pc buildat 1000 or less you get more!
Dude...Actually you're saying that the 580 is better than the 1070gtx? Are you Serious right now?
If we are discussing price per performance, which resolution are we talking about? Which resolution would you prefer gaming at? I am considering getting rid of my Acer 1440p 144Hz monitor and just running 3 HDTVs. I play mostly American Truck Simulator and maybe I will play a little GTA V or HItman, but ATS is my main game right now. I was gaming on a single 40 inch HD before and I miss it.
Only in benchmarks, reality is different! Just like all other benchmarks, are pretty useless, it is real performance that counts!
the 1070?? Is not similar performance, the 580 performs slightly better than the 1060 gtx...
in france there is less them 30/20 euro (so 20/30 dollars) between the rx580 and the 1070...
It's not being a fanboy. Price per performance 580 topples the 1070. Newegg has the 580 for about $260 and the 1070 for 400+. As a budget gamer who isn't brand loyal I'd go with a 580 over 1070 because I save about $100. With mostly similar performance. Especially with this new generation of gaming, developers even favor AMD. My PS4 doesn't have an Nvidia GPU..
fanboy...
well, for the price difference the 580 is the one to beat. lets see how vulcan evolves. Were i stay the 580 is about 3k cheaper than the 1070. I woncder how much of an improvement the 580 is over the 480 if any at all. Either got 1080ti if cash aint an issue or go for a 580, heck even 2x 580s
