Single GPU gaming at 4K is finally made possible with the Titan X. The card has enough horse power to drive all games at more than 30 FPS at 4K resolution.

Modern games use various memory allocation strategies, and these usually involve loading as much into VRAM as fits even if the texture might never or only rarely be used.

I don't know of a single consumer application that makes use of DP.

During full-on gaming, the Titan X is very audible as its noise output roughly matches the original GTX Titan.

In our testing, we see impressive performance that's 33% faster than the GTX 980, and it does not have to rely on game and driver support like a GTX 970 SLI setup would, for instance, since it's a single-GPU.

Sorry, this is not 2013 anymore, and NVIDIA's own fantastic efficiency improvements brought forth this age of super-quiet high-end gaming cards with such exemplary products as the ASUS GTX 980 STRIX and MSI GTX 980 Gaming; the Titan X is not one of them.

Depending on the game and its frame rate, coil noise is more or less audible; our test is also using a high framerate scenario to reveal any potential coil-noise problems.

I've also included the maximum OC performance result with the MSI GTX 980 Gaming, which is the card with the highest overclocked real-life performance we tested.

I also noticed some slight coil noise coming when it runs high FPS, but it's not noticeable enough to be disturbing.

The GTX 970 is already less power efficient, and AMD's cards are far behind with roughly half that power efficiency.

The GM204 in its GTX 980 avatar showed us that Maxwell was no joke, and that even with existing silicon fabrication nodes, NVIDIA could bring about more performance-per-watt gains than you'd expect from a shrink to a new node, maybe even 20 nm.

The Titan X's power efficiency is fantastic; the card nearly leads our performance-per-watt charts only to be topped by the GTX 980.
