The Radeon R9 295X2 is a great GPU, don't get me wrong, but if I had to choose between two faster GPUs than a dual-GPU offering, I would nearly always choose the dual-GPU setup.

AFR is very balanced for multiple, identical GPUs, and it's easy to implement; unfortunately, it could also introduce latency and stutter, and it is inefficient with video memory.
Layer-based methods, on the other hand, are complicated to implement, especially for objects that mutually overlap, but it allows for more control in how tasks and memory are divided.
The tiny details of the environments being rendered will have to increase, as people will physically walk up to the walls, chairs, doors, windows and look at every single little bit with excruciating detail.
I replied saying that the personalization era has been here for a while with gamers - who will spend hours customizing their in-game character or buying hats in Team Fortress 2 or skins for their guns in CS: GO.
GIGABYTE has completely surprised me with their efforts on the GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming card, and what's possible with some excellent engineering, cooling technology, and a single 8-pin PCIe power connector.
It's great, as the GTX 1080 G1 Gaming didn't need any additional fan speed increase to handle the additional load from the overclocking.
