by Anand-Lal-Shimpi (Dec, 2013)The V248QE is a 144Hz 24” 1080p TN display, a good fit for gamers but not exactly the best looking display in the world.
by Anand-Lal-Shimpi (Dec, 2013)Unlike moving to a higher resolution or increasing quality settings, G-Sync’s value is best realized in specific scenarios where there’s a lot of frame rate variability - particularly between 30 and 60 fps.
Features Key features of the GeForce 9100M G mGPU
pixel rate Number of pixels a graphics card can render to the screen every second
texture rate Speed at which a graphics card can perform texture mapping
floating point performance How fast the gpu can crunch numbers
shading units Subcomponents of the gpu, these run in parallel to enable fast pixel shading
texture mapping units Built into each gpu, these resize and rotate bitmaps for texturing scenes
render output processors GPU commponents responsible for transform pixels as they flow between memory buffers

My response was met with a sly smile, and then Polaris hit the mainstream sub $300 market in a big way.
I'd love to have Vega 10 in my hands before I talk performance, but just from the technology side of things - I'm vibrating with excitement.

Unfortunately there was no major reveals other than that AMD will not be limiting AIB partners from pushing for the highest factory overclocks they can get.
Both AMD and NVIDIA appear to be bringing out GPUs better than I expected to see as far as technological improvements in performance and power usage (these die shrinks have really helped even though from here on out that trend isn't really going to continue).

As for UWP's continued evolution, the blog post does tease that we should "expect to see some exciting developments on multiple GPUs in DirectX 12 in the near future.
For G-Sync and FreeSync users, the ability to draw to the screen at any range of render rates will offer an even further advantage of uncapped frame rates, no tearing but also, no "dropped" frames caused by running at off-ratios of a standard monitor's refresh rate.

AMD said that the Polaris architecture is a "historic leap in performance per watt for Radeon GPUs", and that has seen "significant" performance per watt improvements on early GPU samples and early software compared to the previous generation.
Overall, I was impressed with what AMD discussed at RTG Technology Summit and the Polaris architecture as a whole.
