GeForce GT 745A

Released August, 2013
  • 837 MHz
  • 2 GB DDR3

The A8-4500M takes a pretty major chunk out of the GPU (one third of the GPU cores are gone along with a slight drop in maximum clock speed) while maintaining roughly 80% of the CPU performance, so it can fit into slightly cheaper laptops but will likely drop gaming performance from “moderate” to “light.

The Radeon R9 295X2 is a great GPU, don't get me wrong, but if I had to choose between two faster GPUs than a dual-GPU offering, I would nearly always choose the dual-GPU setup.

If it's for both the GPU and display, I would still wait.
If you can wait it out, I would really suggest you do as it's not only going to be great when it comes to new GPUs - but the older video cards should drop in price, too.
Based on a tweet from AMD PR dude Antal Tungler, a PC from Falcon Northwest at the VRLA convention was utilizing a dual-GPU Fiji graphics card to power some demos.
One theory floating around inside the offices here is that AMD is going to release the Fury X2 along with the VR headsets coming out this spring, with hopes of making it THE VR graphics card of choice.
My current system is a 2500k and GTX 670, so the upgrade bug is biting hard, but i can also wait, as the Rift and the HTC Vibe wont really be widely available until the Summer.
On the other hand, if you needed to (or anyone else reading this) buy something now, then the price drop on the R9 Nano has been a great thing, and good timing.
That’s simple, with the program running and the realtime graph disabled (it polls NvAPI constantly adding noise to the mass of API calls).
What it contains is a full account of the process of creating an overclocking tool beyond the constraints of common utilities such as MSI Afterburner.
