GeForce GTX 560

Released December, 2011
  • 900 MHz
  • 1 GB GDDR5
6.9 Out of 10

Since GPU overclocking provides more performance gain than memory overclocking, overall overclocking potential is still good.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)
Coming at $220 it is also priced reasonably, both considering raw performance and cooling power.

Reviews Word on the street for the GeForce GTX 560

It offers decent performance for up to, including, 1680x1050 gaming, comes with improved performance and overclocking potential when compared to GeForce GTX 460 and features improved performance per Watt.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

While GTX 560 Ti performs great around $230, its price does turn away some potential customers who will find a good alternative with AMD's $200 HD 6870.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)
AMD used a two-pronged market strategy against GTX 560 Ti by introducing a cheaper Radeon HD 6950 1 GB graphics card that ended up with high cost-performance ratio; and by slashing prices of HD 6870 and stepping up pressure on lower-end NVIDIA SKUs.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)
First, as of January, NVIDIA may have had a healthy inventory of GTX 460 to clear, and that SKU was quite competitive at the time following some price cuts that made it a good deal against the Radeon HD 6850.

GPU overclocking potential is really nice - the best we have seen on any GTX 560 reviewed today.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)
However, the full GeForce GTX 560 Ti is only $10 more, which offers better performance when maximum overclocking is taken into account.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)

AMD's HD 6870 can offer a tiny bit more performance and better efficiency, on the other hand NVIDIA's drivers seem more mature and refined.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)
This card uses the dual-slot version, a triple slot version is available on high-end cards.
by techPowerUp! (May, 2011)

Power consumption of the ASUS GTX 560 TOP Direct Cu II is comparable to the GeForce GTX 560 Ti which is not surprising since it's the same graphics processor on the same manufacturing process.

Memory Clock Speed

Compared to the GTX 560 Ti, which uses the same GPU, the shader count has been reduced and clock speeds are different.

Just a beast of a card, has lifetime warranty, owned it know for 2 years, due to its 2gb frame buffer (more than the GTX 570 (1.25GB) -580 (1.5GB) and with a great 256 bit bus width (GTX 570 is about 50+ Bits More) its more like a GTX 570 variant, when compared to other GPUs at this price range, makes this a no BRAINER and excellent overclocker. STOCK it beats my GTX 570 in most all test! Its definitely a unique rare gpu. Every vendor has their "Specialty Cards" and this is one of them. The proper SKU is EVGA GTX 560 SC+ 2GB-256Bit (146k Bandwidth!) and the overclocks are great running at 4500 Max Effective Memory, and a 973 Core Clock, even know in 9.3.15 can run any game I have, FC3-FC4-BF4-SHADOW OF MORDOR-RYSE SON OF ROME-GTAV & JUST STARTED PLAYING MAD MAX Last night. It will perform flawlessly on single monitor (up to 30+ inches) @ 1080p - 4xAA - High to Ultra Settings even recording via Nvidia Shadow Play Game Recording Software in the background, ave 45-80+ FPS all day! When its at Full Load on a test bench, the fan can get loud, however inside a PC its not bad at all and obviously everyone is different on noise, it dont bug me much so long as its doing the cooling job i need at higher overclocks and performs is a sacrifice im willing to take. In SLI you'll be blown away! Easily will beat a GTX 680/770 alone, and for what you can pick them up for you can save some money by buying a another for more "Future Proofing" especially with 2GB Frame Buffer. And can run 3 monitors (3D Surround) in SLI is fantastic. Makes for a Kick Ass PHYSX card too. My new EVGA X79 DARK Motherboard with the Intel Core i7-3820K (Naitive 40 Lanes_So the cpu can run Dual GPU's @ FULL x16 pcie 3.0 Speeds = 32 lanes, giving you 8 more lanes, perfect for another GPU @ x8 pcie 3.0 for 3 way SLI or 2 Way SLI w/ PHYSX like i'm running without any GPU Restrictions/Bottlenecks due to Bandwidth issues, etc.) - 2-Way SLI EVGA GTX 770's SC (GTX 680 On Steroids) 2GB-256 Bit GPU's + The EVGA GTX 560 SC+ 2GB-256 Bit PHYSX - Silverstone PLANTEX 80+ Platinum (100+ AMPS On 12V Rail!) 1200W Fully Modular PSU, the mobo has QUAD CHANNEL Memory with 32GB Corsiar DOMINATOR GT Memory @ 2200MHz OC (1866MHz Stock) - XSPC Raystorm 750 EX360 Custom Water Cooling Setup - Modded PC by NZXT Phantom 630 I added Full Clear Window, Did Carbon Fiber 3M Wrap with some custom Painted Components + I/O and more....Went off on a Tangent there for a bit. I stumbled upon this page since im getting ready to sell my Card. If anyone is interested let me know. Got screenshots, pix, etc. I run a Custom PC Business called "IMPERIAL CUSTOM PC'S, INC." here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Do reviews-unboxings-all things tech-mods-ho0w too guides-overclocking and more on my channel i just re-launched since ive been out the game 2 years battling cancer. So its time to play catch up on everything. Take care and hope this helps someone if thier still considering a tough, more budget oriented GPU thats more equal to GTX 950 or something. Message me at OVERCLOCK.NET > my OCN accnt name is: jkuddyh801 or you can find me on PCPARTPICKER.COM > imperialpccustoms or by GOOGLE+ @ [Videos-Uploads-B Roll Media is being updated daily now im feeling a tad bit better]
And how is it?
I have this card! ;3
