6.4 Out of 10

Explore 4 laptops with the GeForce GTX 780M
It will work at 823MHz+ GPU clock and feasture 4GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 5GHz and paired up with a 256-bit memory interface that add up to 160GB/s of memory bandwidth.
by Slobodan-Simic (May, 2013)
The memory runs along a 256-bit interface pumping out 160 GB/s bandwidth though we don’t know how the higher VRAM would benefit users in terms of raw performance numbers.

In The News From around the web

Although not inexpensive, it will allow customers to get some extra mileage out of their laptop, especially with the major improvements in performance we have seen with the Maxwell 2 based GTX 980M and GTX 970M.
This will let owners of older laptops, who are not interested in a complete upgrade, obtain the power of the new Maxwell 2 based GPUs from NVIDIA in their laptop.

Nvidia Maxwell goes mobile with GTX 980M and GTX 970M

by Slobodan Simic |
Despite their same name, mobile GPUs are always way below their desktop counterparts for obvious reasons, and while that might happened before, the new Maxwell 2.0 changes everything and closes the relative performance gap placing the performance of the mobile GTX 980M at around 80 percent of the GTX 980.
Efficiency is quite impressive considering the GPU is still based on the 28nm manufacturing process.
Without going through a horrible amount of headaches, building a custom gaming notebook is a pretty tough task.
If you can afford it, the ORIGIN PC EON17-SLX gaming notebook will, without a doubt, leave a positive impression on you in nearly every category.
The new chips from both vendors are either too power hungry that they cannot be integrated into notebooks at the moment or they are just waiting for the launch of their next generation GPUs and then go ahead to launch new generation of mobility parts.
NVIDIA’s first tier chips would be MXM design which means they would be interchangeable, upgradable and even offer SLI support on some notebook designs.
