Radeon E6760

Released May, 2011
  • 600 MHz
  • 1 GB GDDR5

Being the most high-performance chip that IBM has to offer, the components are scattered across a 22nm die featuring silicon-on-insulator technology spread across an area of 650mm2 which is quite huge.

In The News From around the web

On the clock frequency side, we aren’t looking at the 18 or 14 core chips to be clocked high from 3 to 3.3 GHz but the 10-12 core variants have the probability of featuring speeds as high as 4 GHz with lower TDPs.
TDPs are expected to remain the same as Haswell-EP for each part but take it as an improvement since a Broadwell-EP with 18 cores would be featuring a 160W TDP which is the same as a 14 Core Haswell-EP variant.
Intel has detailed 6-8 cores for their Haswell-E processors that would be equipped with massive 20 MB of L3 smart cache and just like Haswell, would feature an integrated voltage regulator “FVIR” and the flagship part would ship with TDPs around 140W which is impressive since that’s 10W under what we get on the Core i7-3970X which has 6 cores compared to the Haswell-E beast that would feature 8 cores and 20 MB of L3 cache.
Chinese portal of VR-Zone posted an exclusive picture of the first Haswell-E engineering sample which will feature 8 cores and a clock speed of 3 GHz.
Featuring almost twice the level of performance as 2012′s Power 7 chip, the Power8 Processor would take high-performance computing for enterprise markets to the next level.
Along with its tremendous design, Power8 processor would also use a Coherently Allocated Processor Interface or CAPI for short featuring coherent memory addressing for CPUs and external co-processors such as NVIDIA’s Tesla or the Intel Knight’s Landing and Ferry.

E3 2013: AMD tells the press their gaming initiatives

by Scott Michaud |
The Press Release specifically mentioned Eyefinity and Crossfire support along with a DirectX 11 rendering engine; of course, the enhancements with real, interesting effects are the seemingly boring ones they do not mention.
