They have also added more functionality, to both the pixel and compute shaders, to operate in multiple threads, called lanes, similar to OpenCL.
This could make it easy to write DX12-compatible shader code in other languages, like C++, which is a direction that Vulkan is heading, but Microsoft hasn't seemed to announce that yet.

Using The Witcher 3 once again, we can clearly see that the 6-pin connection draws as much as 65 watts of power, the motherboard +12V source peaks at about 53 watts, well under the 66 watt limit for +12V..
NVIDIA’s Pascal launch has gone about as perfectly as NVIDIA could have wanted, with the only hiccup being the lack of product on virtual and physical shelves with the frequency gamers would like.
If users were experiencing flickering and corruption with videos in a web browser, AMD claims that was also fixed in this version.
It also includes enhancements for Paragon and a Crossfire profile for Dark Souls III.
GALAX’s upcoming GeForce GTX 980 HOF which features a custom designed, white colored PCB was spotted over at Intel’s X99 LAN Party even which was held in Beijing, China.
I have been a huge fan of the HOF series and I really appreciate their custom designed PCB being one of the most high-end designs ever conceived in the graphics industry.
