When it comes to building and configuring Core M, Intel likes to refer to their efforts as the “Fanless Challenge,” reflecting the fact that their biggest goal with Core M is to comfortably get the processor in to 10” tablets under 10mm in thickness that are passively cooled. The end result no doubt limited what performance optimizations Intel could integrate into Broadwell’s design, but it also functionally reduces power requirements for any given performance level, furthering Intel’s goals in getting Core performance in a mobile device.

While we already did a drop, scratch and water test to see if the smartphone could sustain a few hits here and there; iFixit’s One M8 teardown would show you what to expect realistically when you have a broken or damaged HTC One M8. IFixit also notes that the repair work is made harder by the use of copious amounts of tape, adhesive, and copper shielding.

Nvidia's new Maxwell architecture is extremely power efficient, which makes it the obvious choice for mobile graphics, but Nvidia does not have high-end parts based on the new architecture just yet. The Intel bash also revealed some interesting info on Intel's power efficiency.

The 760M and 765M both use 768 CUDA cores, but the 765M is clocked almost 200MHz faster. The RAM and core are connected via a 256-bit interface.
