We recently hooked up with overclocking guru Sami Mäkinen to get his take on the best way to overclock AMD's A8-3870K APU.

So, if you increase the reference clock, you pretty much overclock everything.

NVIDIA Announces a Fallout 4 Mod

by Scott Michaud |
www.pcper.com
It is designed to show off GameWorks technologies, such as volumetric lighting and HBAO+, more heavily than Bethesda did with the base game.
If you're wondering why NVIDIA has a game development studio, they are mostly responsible for bringing content from the PC to their Shield devices, such as Half-Life 2 and Portal.

A New Perspective on Multi-GPU Memory Management

by Scott Michaud |
www.pcper.com
AFR is very balanced for multiple, identical GPUs, and it's easy to implement; unfortunately, it could also introduce latency and stutter, and it is inefficient with video memory.
Layer-based methods, on the other hand, are complicated to implement, especially for objects that mutually overlap, but it allows for more control in how tasks and memory are divided.
Though the Radeon RX 480 was released last month, based on AMD's latest Polaris, we are bringing in our first board partner.
Ed Crisler, NA PR/Marketing Manager for Sapphire will be joining us in studio to talk about the RX 480 and Sapphire's plans for custom cards.
Alongside the launch of new Radeon Pro WX (workstation) series graphics cards, AMD teased an interesting new Radeon Pro product: the Radeon Pro SSG.
With the Radeon Pro SSG, this idea is not fully realized (it is more of a sidestep), but it will move performance further.
