GDDR5X Memory Standard Gets Official with JEDEC

Derived from the widely adopted GDDR5 SGRAM JEDEC standard, GDDR5X specifies key elements related to the design and operability of memory chips for applications requiring very high memory bandwidth.
“GDDR5X represents a significant leap forward for high end GPU design,” said Mian Quddus, JEDEC Board of Directors Chairman.
Roy Taylor has emphatically stated that the FX line of AMD CPUs has been very successful & tremendously popular & that AMD will continue to be dedicated to the high-end CPU market & not just APUs, saying.
This must be music to every enthusiast’s ears, a strong AMD back in the fistfight (figuratively) with Intel means faster cheaper CPUs for everybody.

Nvidia releases Geforce 340.52 WHQL graphics driver

The biggest update for the Nvidia Geforce 340.52 WHQL graphics driver is the support for Nvidia GameStream technology for the new Shield tablet as well as the Shield portable hand-held gaming console.
As expected, Nvidia has now released the new Geforce 340.52 WHQL-certified graphics driver which is a "game ready" driver for a couple of games, has some new SLI and 3D Vision profiles and brings support for GameStream technology for the recently launched Nvidia Shield tablet.
