[H] tested an FX 8370 at 2GHz and 4.3GHz to see what effect this had on the games, the 3GHz tests did not add any value and were dropped in favour of these two turbo frequencies.

3DMark API Overhead Feature Test - Early DX12 Performance

At a high level, here is how the test works: starting with a small number of draw calls per frame, the test increases the number of calls in steps every 20 frames until the frame rate drops below 30 FPS.
First, a DirectX 11 pass is done in a single-threaded method where all draw calls are made from a single thread.
The stated official performance figures are on par with the original Mantle figures, with Star Swarm showing a major performance increase and Battlefield 4 showing a small but significant performance increase.
Now this particular update, along with the various performance updates and bug fixes will include 2 major updates.
When the driver is released and third party benchmarks emerge, it will become clear whether Nvidia was true to it word or not.
Ofcourse, the benchmarks themselves came under criticism because of the fact that a very high end processor was used to test a supposedly “CPU-Overhead-Reducing” Driver.
